What is SPAM?
By SpamBurner • Sep 13th, 2007 • Category: SPAM BasicsI don’t think that we have to go deep into this subject. Why not? Everybody knows what SPAM is. There a lot of definitions about SPAM. All of them share a common view - spam is the Internet version of junk mail. In fact the term junk mail is used widely in Internet.
If we want to describe it with one sentence it will be:
- It is unsolicited, unwanted (sometimes harmful) e-mail message.
Even a list with a dozen of definitions will not make it more clear as it is.
Most of the SPAM messages are misunderstanding of the word “E-Mail marketing”. In fact the difference is very thin. What is SPAM and what is e-mail marketing. Some people explain that e-mail marketing has a specific target - they examine the company profile and send the e-mail only to those that they can help you.
To be able to protect from SPAM and to avoid get harmed by it there is one thing that is very important - knowledge. You will find here information that will keep you informed and educated.
